Sri Raghavendra Swamiji stands as epitome amongst the greatest writers in Madhwa Philosophy. Tatwavaadins are deeply indebted to Him for his range of works/Tippanis on most of the writings of Trio – Acharya Madhwa, Sri Jayatheertha and Sri Vyasaraja. Unique feature of synthesizing all the opinions of these authors, without leaving any room for difference amongst them, is the hall-mark of His writings. His opinion is considered ultimate on any aspects. Simplicity, preciseness, conviction, depth, firmness stand glaring, despite the usage of limited words and short sentences. Wholistic approach on grammar and topics of Poorva-Mimamsa, complement everything and is a treat to watch. The kindness of disposition is so unique, that it becomes a priceless art to be practiced with great reverence. His approach of highlighting proofs to substantiate his opinion on very complicated aspects, is worth emulating. Never ever he critisises anyone. Most of the time, he sets out the merits and demerits, enabling readers to form a considered opinion. He is renowned for his compassion to devotees in grief. Likewise he is polestar, to learners in the path of seeking wisdom.

Mantralaya PrabhugaLu has 6 works to his credit on Brahma Sutra.

  1. Parimala: It is best gloss on famous Sriman-Nyaya-Sudha, a renowned commentary on Anuvyakhyana of Acharya Madhwa.
  2. Tatwaprakashika- Bhaavadheepa: Unique gloss on Sri Jayatheertha’s Tatwaprakashika, a commentary on Brahmasutra Bhashya of Sri Acharya Madhwa.
  3. Prakasha: It is a gloss on Tatparya-Chandrika of Star Sri Vyasaraja. Tatparya Chandrika is itself a matchless exposition of Tatwaprakashika, authored by radiant Sri Jayatheertha.
  4. Tatwamanjari: Astrounding work which blossoms the multi-dimensional meaning of Anubhashya, which is dynamic, breathtaking and abysmally stuffed masterpiece of Acharya Madhwa on Brahma Sutras.
  5. Nyayamukthavali: Again a treatise summarizing the essence of each adhikarana of Brahma Sutras.
  6. Tantradeepika: Mantralaya Swamiji captions this work aptly as Tantradeepika, for the – term “Tantra” means “Religious Treatise – Scientific Treatise – Composition of Divine Authority” and Deepika means beacon. It elucidates, limelights and mirrors with utmost clarity, all the essentials of Brahma-Mimamsa.   Raghavendra Vijaya crisply defines Tantra Deepika asBrahmasutra is like a Lamp-(ಹಣತೆ) for Tantradeepika-(Flame) which precisely elucidates the essentials of each Sutra. Brahmasutrabhashya-(Commentary) is its wick.Sri Raghavendra Swamiji has poured the Sudha-ghee into this lamp, to brighten the flame. Tantradeepika is unique compared to other works of Sri Raghavendra on Brahmasutra. First, it states the objective of each of its Adhikarana and embarks on to investigate the objections and dilemmas-(poorvapaksha). Then, the apt Sutra which clarifies the objection, is referred. To interpret the Sutra, additional words-(Adhyahara) are complemented to render them intelligible. Then how to apply continued influence-(Anuvrutthi) of a preceeding rule is stated. Usage of rhetorics-(Punarukthi) and purpose is then explained. Art and principles of filling the gaps-(SheshaPooraNa) is then clarified. After resorting to the aforesaid techniques, unambiguous statement is carved out. Subsequently, each of such words in the sentence is realigned, related and then construed(Anvaya). Ultimately, the subject matter and its obvious meaning-(Bhavartha) is depicted. Also, different interpretations if any in Tatwa-pradeepa, Sudha, Chandrika etc. are referred to. Seeming tautology-(Punarukthi) and apparent contradictions-(Virodhabhaasa) are discussed and then solutions presented. Also, at the end of each pada, accomplished topic or thing established-(Prameya) in each Adhikarana is summarily captured. Hence, this Tantradeepika marvels as complete treatise on Brahma-Sutra.Fortunate we are, if we can dive in this Gold-Mine, even for some time on a daily basis. Undoubtedly, this can be the most meaningful and befitting aaradhana to the towering and mighty personality – (Mantralaya PrabhugaLu) Sri Raghavendra Swamiji.
